Make an Exfoliating Face Mask with Pineapple, Papaya & Yogurt

Ready to brighten your skin? In this tutorial you'll learn how to make your own exfoliating face mask. We'll be using fresh fruits to make this natural treatment. Pineapple and papaya are both rich in naturally exfoliating enzymes that help to break up and dissolve unwanted dead skin cells that can leave your complexion looking dull. Yogurt, meanwhile, is rich in nutrients and lactic acid which also helps to slough away dead skin cells and brighten your skin. Let's get started!
Supplies

- 3 tablespoons fresh papaya
- 3 large chunks fresh pineapple
- 3 tablespoons yogurt
- 3 tablespoons rhassoul clay
- 1 teaspoon apricot kernel oil
- 3-5 drops sweet orange essential oil
- Food processor or blender
- Knife
- Mixing spoons
- 4-6 oz container
1. Prepare Fresh Fruit
Step 1
Cut the papaya in half and scoop out the seeds.

Step 2
Using a spoon, scoop out three tablespoons directly from the papaya and place into a food blender.

Step 3
Crush the pineapple then add it to the blender. Be sure to use fresh pineapple, not canned. Fresh pineapple, like papaya, is rich in enzymes which will naturally loosen and dissolve dead skin cells.

Step 4
Add the yogurt to the blender.

2. Blend
Step 1
Blend the fresh ingredients until pureed and mixed well. The mixture may still be lumpy.

Step 2
Drizzle in the apricot kernel oil and blend again until smooth.
Apricot kernel oil is a light carrier oil that's great for facial skin. Other substitutes are hazelnut or grapeseed oil. Both are light, slightly astringent and also rich in vitamins and nutrients for your skin.
Note: If you are having trouble getting a smooth texture, drizzle in a bit more oil or yogurt.

Step 3
Add a few drops of orange essential oil.
This mask is already smelling great, but I like to add an extra boost of citrus essential oils for added nutrients and cleansing.

3. Add the Dry Ingredients
Step 1
Spoon the fresh ingredients into a small bowl.

Step 2
Add the rhassoul clay one spoonful at a time. Mix until well combined.

Step 3
Once combined, transfer the mask to a new clean, air-tight container.

Enjoy Your New Exfoliating Mask
You've just made a naturally exfoliating, nutrient-rich natural face mask with fresh fruit.
To use, spread a generous amount of mask onto clean skin and leave on for 10 minutes. Don't allow the mask to dry on your face. Remove with warm water and follow with your favorite moisturizer. Your skin will feel refreshed and smooth.

You can use this treatment one to two times a week. Leftovers will keep for one to two weeks when sealed properly in an air-tight container. This mask must be kept in a refrigerator between uses.
