How to Make Your Own Vanilla Sugar Scrub Cubes

Ready for another sugar scrub project? In this tutorial, you'll learn how to make gorgeous sugar scrub cubes, which make fantastic presents. A sugar scrub cube is a solid, single-use dose of sugar scrub. They're super convenient because they don't create a lot of mess, but still deliver all the exfoliation you need. Sugar scrub cubes also travel well (no need to take the whole jar, just take a few individual cubes) and they're easy to make. This recipe is made with pure cane sugar and vanilla extract. The decadent smell from the vanilla extract is warm and alluring. This recipe makes about 30 one inch cubes.
Supplies

- 2 cups of sugar
- 1/3 cup of sweet almond oil or other carrier oil
- 8 oz melt-and-pour soap base
- 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
- Large Pyrex cup
- Soap mold
- Mixing spoons
- Measuring cups
1. Preparation & Melt
Step 1
Cut up your melt-and-pour soap base into small chunks.

Step 2
Add the melt-and-pour soap to the Pyrex cup and place in a pot of boiling water to melt.

Step 3
Once completely melted, remove the cup from the heat and stir the soap base to make sure there are no remaining chunks.

2. Mix
Step 1
Add the oil to the soap base. I'm using sweet almond oil, but you can substitute this with any carrier oil you have on hand. Other good choices include coconut oil, avocado oil, or even shea butter. If you are using a shea butter you'll only need half the amount.

Step 2
Add the vanilla extract to the soap base and stir everything together.

Step 3
Add the sugar to the soap base and quickly stir until well combined.

3. Mold
Step 1
Quickly transfer your sugar scrub to the soap molds and set aside to harden.

Step 2
Once the scrub has hardened, release it from the molds.

Step 3
Cut the sugar blocks into one inch-sized cubes.
